Thoughts from my time in Haiti.
I want each of you to have Hope down here. That is something I am very bad at. I am bad at missions trips. I come down here and I get angry. I get angry at all of the ways that missionaries missed the mark. But don’t be like me. When I allow myself to only see the negative I miss out on all of the hope that is so evident. These faces trust more in God on their worst day than I do on my best day.
Keep Hope that things will get better. If you leave here and go home with a hopeless heart you will compartmentalize these people. Because no one likes hopelessness and we are American, we have the luxury to ignore. If you lose hope, you will ignore. If you keep hope, you will never forget these people.
